Florida State HVAC $1500 Rebate

Well the Florida State HVAC $1500 Rebate took effect today. Well I should say yesterday since it has now turned past midnight.
So what does it mean? The State of Florida is finally using some of it’s federal stimulus money!
The State Government has $15,000,000 for this rebate program that equates to 10,000 homes will have high efficiency systems with less than 15% duct leakage. The HVAC Rebate is an addition to the Federal Tax Rebate but it’s a little different. The Federal Tax Rebate is based on your tax with holdings. While the Florida HVAC Rebate is a rebate that will be issued through an American Express Credit Card to the Home Owner. Some how the State must have cut a deal with American Express, not sure but hey if American Express chips in to help drive their credit cards sales up, than whatever it takes to get money to real people with real homes that need a good air conditioning system that will save them money on their utilities! Just pay your bills with the American Express then cancel the card if you choose.

This is good thing, but it won’t last long!
